Since its foundation in 1982, MKW – Materialkreislauf- und Kompostwirtschaft GmbH & Co. KG (MKW), a wholly owned company of the Aurich district, has continuously evolved into a modern service provider for circular economy operations. With more than 200 employees, MKW collects over 100,000 tonnes of waste annually within the region and, together with waste from other municipalities in a supra-regional catchment area of more than 600,000 residents, processes this material in its own facilities. Here, the waste is treated so that it can predominantly be reintegrated into material cycles or utilized for energy recovery. MKW’s facilities are continuously improved and further developed; the company is, for example, also active in the fields of biogas and photovoltaic systems. In addition to waste collection and treatment, MKW offers a wide range of logistics services with over 100 transport vehicles.
