Beskrivelse
Original early fire service G-wagon, second owner, never previously used for civilian purposes.
Passed TÜV and classic car inspection (H-Gutachten as per §23 StVZO) in September 2025.
Vehicle inspection (HU) valid until 09/2027 (DEKRA passed “without defects”).
Year of manufacture: 1981 / First registration: 07/1981.
Original mileage only 29,800 km over more than 44 years of fire service duty.
Advance Rescue Vehicle (VRW) with ZIEGLER bodywork and Knurz-Kirsch generator, rated at 5 kVA.
German specification vehicle, with original registration papers (only 2 registered owners to date), continuously registered and in use or kept in the garage until 10/2025.
The manufacturer listed in the original paperwork is still GFG "Geländefahrzeug-Gesellschaft"—a joint venture by Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria at the time. This vehicle is among the last produced with this manufacturer designation, as shortly afterward “Daimler-Benz” became the registered manufacturer in the documents.
As recorded in 1991, a complete MATTER roll bar was installed and remains in place.
Includes a small roof rack system for transporting long equipment items.
The long-wheelbase 280 GE is the largest and most powerful vehicle from the first G-Class generation available as a factory-standard Mercedes model in its early years.
The six-cylinder M110 petrol engine with 2,717 cc displacement produces 115 kW/156 hp and runs well.
4-speed manual transmission with differential locks.
Power steering.
155 km/h is entered as the maximum speed.
A PTO for operating the generator is also fitted.
The vehicle was most recently used mainly to transport a portable pump (TS) with suction hoses and accessories. Therefore, there are no rear seats and a load area is provided. Apart from the 2 front seats, no additional seats are installed.

According to original papers, it is classified as a "3-seater" and the registration type is “Other Vehicle, Fire Service, Advance Rescue Vehicle (VRW).”
Unladen weight: 2,360 kg.
The original gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 2,900 kg was increased in 1991 and now stands at 3,030 kg.
This results in a current payload capacity of 670 kg for the 280 GE.
Dimensions: Length 4,395 mm / Width 1,700 mm / Height 2,150 mm.
Tyres: 205/80R16.
Fitted with quality winter tyres meeting current legal requirements (snowflake symbol, DOT 2018).
While the G does not feature a trailer hitch, the base cross-member required is installed. Retrofitting data or trailer load specification is not possible as the relevant fields are marked “not applicable” in the original registration document.
This offer is valid for commercial customers, freelancers, public authorities, emergency services, agricultural and forestry operations, and similar self-employed professionals only. Sale to private end customers is unfortunately not possible. Subject to prior sale and errors.
The 280 GE is immediately available and ready for registration. It was recently driven a considerable distance by motorway to our premises, which it completed without issue.
According to verbal information, the Mercedes is accident-free, but this cannot be documented in writing and is therefore passed on to the buyer as hearsay.
The 280 GE was rightly classified as a classic vehicle and officially recognised in Germany as an "automotive cultural asset."
