Beskrivelse
We are reluctantly parting with our "Corona Bus." Since its registration as a camper van in October 2021, we only used it for a few select testing and vaccination operations. Privately, we have barely used it. The bus comes from Switzerland, where it had previously been owned by the state and served as an intercity bus. Roll bar and similar components are presumably stainless steel. We had the windows newly tinted. In addition to the original auxiliary heater, there are two additional 6 kW auxiliary heaters installed in the bus. At the rear door, there is a foldable wheelchair ramp, which also makes loading for holidays very easy. As a camper, it can be driven with a truck license thanks to its 8+1 seating arrangement, all equipped with automatic 3-point belts. The pneumatic height adjustment is ideal, for example, for embarking onto ferries. There's not enough space here to list all the special features and details that make this camper bus truly stand out.
As an intercity bus, it has standard gearing and can travel up to 100 km/h, rather than being speed-limited for city use. Since 2021, it has been stored inside a hall (just like with the previous Swiss owners). The technical inspection (TÜV) is due. At around 650,000 km, the transmission was reportedly replaced in Switzerland as a preventative measure, so it should be reliable for years to come. The retarder functions as it should. One of the highlights is the excellent view through the large panoramic front window – a real pleasure. It also features an electrically adjustable sun blind. A reversing camera has also been installed. The bus was built in 2003, and its second life as a camper began with reclassification in 10/2021. The driver’s seat is pneumatically damped and ensures comfortable, relaxed driving – even on long journeys. In addition to the supplied snow chains, so-called 'automatic traction chains' are mounted underneath the bus. It is known that one air valve for the height control may stick due to standing for two years, and there may be an intermittent fault on the left headlight. Otherwise, in 2025, new batteries were fitted, it starts up perfectly and is a real joy to drive. Yes, it's still registered. We are ready to sell it at short notice to the first interested party who does not try to negotiate (smile). We need to vacate the hall by the end of February 2026 as we have sold the storage space.
