With the detachable rear-mounted loading crane from Schaefer Stahl- und Fahrzeugbau GmbH, you are opting for a well-thought-out system that turns your Unimog carrier vehicle into a highly efficient and versatile work vehicle. This in-house development from Schaefer can be assembled or disassembled in minutes without any tools – efficient, safe, and practical.

Well-designed for unrestricted mobility
When mounted, the crane remains completely within the vehicle’s outline. This ensures that the vehicle can be moved safely and easily at all times – even in road traffic or on confined premises.

Safe attachment and detachment
The crane can be attached and detached absolutely safely, with the operator never having to be under the crane, as all connections can be conveniently made from the right-hand side.
The crane console is hydraulically locked onto the carrier vehicle. An integrated pressure accumulator that continuously retightens the locking mechanism ensures an absolutely play-free connection.

Efficiency and long service life
In the folded-down position, the crane is securely and extremely compactly stored on a specially designed storage carriage. This protects it from the weather, dirt, and de-icing salt when not in use – a crucial factor for a long service life.
The storage carriage, even with the crane mounted on it, can be moved manually on level ground; otherwise, it can be easily maneuvered using a forklift or similar equipment via a steering axle and towing eye.
As standard, operation is via a hydraulic hand pump.

Practical down to the smallest detail
• The crane and console are equipped with a foldable underrun protection that meets even the most stringent requirements and is stored together with the crane.
• Vehicle lighting, as well as all hydraulic and compressed air connections, are routed beyond the mounted crane and are fully available there.
• The trailer coupling mounted on the crane also allows trailers to be towed even with the crane mounted – not only turntable trailers, but also central-axle trailers with a vertical load of up to 1,000 kg. An optional front weight for counterbalancing is available if required.
