Why robust lead-acid batteries outperform expensive lithium in winter.

After three years of practical use with hundreds of electric MAXIMUM wheel loaders, we draw a clear conclusion: We strongly advise against expensive lithium batteries for year-round operation.

The problem with lithium in winter:
- Power drop: Even from +5°C, batteries discharge extremely quickly outdoors.
- No charging when frozen: At 0°C and below, no power is absorbed. The wheel loader often fails for months.
- Outdoor storage impossible: Sensitive lithium technology does not survive wintering outdoors without damage.

Our Recommendation: Maintenance-free Lead-acid Batteries
We have by far the best experience with this technology. The advantages are clear:

- Reliable in cold: Consistent performance and problem-free outdoor storage in winter.
- Robust & durable: Higher reliability and easy maintenance in daily operation.
- Significant price advantage: Considerably cheaper to purchase and replace than lithium packs.

Avoid expensive lithium experiments if your machine is expected to work reliably all year round.
